Alpha Bank, London

The conversion of existing offices to create bespoke interiors for a new private banking hall.

Alpha, the Greek bank, wanted a new centre for private banking customers in this existing building in Mayfair. The previous office space was stripped out and reorganised with the creation of three purpose-designed meeting rooms for consultation with private clients. These were designed and crafted as bespoke spaces: asymmetric oval pods with bamboo lined walls, each accessible from both the client’s reception area and the private staff offices behind. With an individual roof and laylight, the pods were clad on the outside with cherry timber panels. They were constructed in the joinery workshop in sections and assembled quickly on site. All elements of the interior design - finishes, lighting, furniture and accessories - were conceived and selected to create a careful balance of the contemporary and the more traditional aspects of quality banking halls.
